This week, I am spending some time in western Colorado. It was a long drive, but the landscape is so beautiful out here.
Traveling does have its perks. Tonight, I had a lovely dinner at a Grand Junction restaurant called The Winery. There I enjoyed a lovely glass of Colorado wine, along with Colorado lamb chops. It was a wonderful Colorado meal! Of course, it would be even better with good company, but I have gotten used to eating in restaurants alone (although they often still look at me funny when I go in and ask for a table for one–oh well!).

The entryway to the restaurant–it was so quaint and lovely!
Tomorrow I will do some work in Glenwood Springs and then head back to Denver, Jason and the pugs. I miss them when I am traveling! Today was a really good day, which was so encouraging. Some days are rough, but it makes the good days even sweeter! Hope you guys are doing well!
Whew, today was a CRAZY today, but I am in the airport waiting to go home! I don’t mind this traveling, but I do miss my puggies and husband when I am gone more than one night.
In case you aren’t a new junkie or haven’t heard, Denver is scheduled to be taken over by the Democratic National Convention. It is actually kind of exciting to have our city in such a national spotlight. Everytime I hear “Democratic National Convention” on the news, I get a little shudder of excitement. Jason wants to go downtown one night and do some celebrity watching. I did read in a magazine that both Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney have rented out entire floors in some of the downtown hotels! I will actually be awawy from Denver most of the week, but it would still be pretty exciting to see someone famous!
I am in the Salt Lake City area three days this week and am trying to enjoy my time here.
The firs two pictures are in Park City–one picture shows the ski jumping venue that was used in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, which were held in Salt Lake City. The fourth picture shows where the Olympic Torch was during those Olympics.
This evening, I walked around Temple Square, where the Mormon Temple is located. The grounds are beautiful–lots of flowers and fountains and green grass. I took a tour of the Mormon convention center, which was finished in 2002. I didn’t really want to take the entire tour, but I wanted to see the roof, because it is a 4 acre garden! It has trees and grasses and wildflowers on the roof to represent what the settlers found when they came into the valley where Salt Lake is now located. It was pretty interesting!
(I haven’t quite figured out how to enter pictures one by one on WordPress. Any suggestions?!)
Today I came home to this in the floor. Any ideas who is to blame?
If you can’t tell, it is a granola bar wrapper in several pieces. minus the granola bar.
Oscar? Daisy?
Sorry for the lack of posting lately–I am exhausted! The new job is great but is a lot of work and a big adjustment. Sometimes I feel like I will never get used to it, but I am sure I someday will.
Last weekend was our annual church camping trip at Golden Gate Canyon State Park outside Golden, Colorado. It is usually in June, but this summer it was in August, which was much better. Usually we freeze at night, but we were very comfortable this year.
The trip was Friday night through Sunday morning. Friday night was great, but Saturday afternoon was pretty rainy. We spent about three hours in our tent due to the storm, but luckily we didn’t have any leaks or flooding. My biggest concern was that lightning would strike our tent, but we were fine. Just tired of being stuck in our tent! But all in all, it was a fun weekend–it is so nice just to get away!

I just read today about the passing of sweet Pugsley. He touched so many of us in the pug community, and his momma Lori is in our thoughts. You will be missed, Pugsley, but thank you for sharing your spunk and tenacity with all of us! You will always be remembered!
In my recent travels, I keep thinking that I need to take pictures to share with you guys, but it is hard enough for me to drive without the distraction of taking pictures at the same time! I tried to get a few good shots yesterday, but this was the best I could do. You probably can’t even see much in these (mostly they just look like grass, but there really are mountains off in the distance), because I had quite a glare off my car windows, plus they were taken on my cell phone camera. But this is how I spent much of my day yesterday!
I had some work to do in northern Colorado, and the view of the mountains from up there was phenomenal! Next week, I will be back in Salt Lake City, so I will try to get some good pictures while I am there.
Well, I survived my first week of really working. It is a LOT different than my old job, but I think I will enjoy it once I get the hang of everything. There is a stronger sales component than I realized there would be, but that will just take practice. I spent two days in Salt Lake City and the rest of the week here in Denver. Next week will be mostly local travel and then back to Salt Lake City the following week for a few days.
I purchased a Garmin GPS system for my job, and I seriously don’t know how I ever got around without it. It is amazing! You type is where you are going, and it talks you through how to get there. You can also find restaurants and other places you would like to go. I love it!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
